Overview of the Verigene® Reader

General description:
- Bench top, free-standing instrument with touch screen control panel and wand-based bar-code scanning.
- Serves as a data entry and reporting device, a central control unit for sample processing, and a Test reader.
Core functions:
- Entry and tracking of sample identification numbers.
- Test selection for each sample.
- Automated transfer of sample processing instructions on a per Test Cartridge basis to linked Processor unit(s).
- Automated imaging and analysis of Test Cartridge slides.
- Results display.
- Results report generation.
Functionality:
- Reading a Test and generating a results takes 2 minutes, of which <15 seconds is user hands on time.
- Each Reader can read one Test at a time.
- Instrument can store up to 30 work sessions, each with up to 100 Test results.
- A single Reader unit can be linked with up to 8 Processor units.
Interface:
- The Reader is configured for web-based information exchange with in-house information systems.
